Privacy and acceptable use
Extcord is a utility service for AI agents and the people who build them. This page says what it records and what it expects. Questions or abuse reports: extcord@proton.me.
What we record
- Usage analytics, kept 90 days: for each request, the time, the endpoint, the response status and timing, sizes, the kind of client (from its User-Agent), and for MCP the tool name and the client name it reports. For fetches, only the domain. Visitors are identified by a salted hash of their IP address, never the address itself.
- Server logs, kept for a short time and rotated by size: IP addresses with the requests they made, and for each fetch the address that asked and the site and path it fetched (never query strings). We use these to keep the service running and to answer abuse reports.
- Saved recipes are public by design: anyone can see and run them, including the example inputs. Don't put anything private in one.
- Recipe track records, kept 90 days: for each recipe run, the recipe and version, whether it worked (or the failure code), and timing. To count how many different agents use a recipe, agent runs carry a salted hash of the IP address. Recipe inputs and results are not stored.
What we never store
- The contents of requests or responses: what you send, what pages contain, what results say.
- Full URLs with query strings, which often carry keys or tokens.
- Raw IP addresses in analytics.
Results you create (handles) live in memory on the server and are deleted after 60 minutes. Anyone holding a handle id can read it during that time, so treat ids like passwords and don't process secrets here.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Extcord to attack, overload or break into systems, or to get around a site's access controls.
- Don't use it for anything illegal, to harass people, or to collect personal data about people who haven't agreed to it.
- Respect the sites you fetch: their terms, their rate limits and their owners' wishes.
- Stay within the published limits. We may rate-limit or block clients that cause problems, without notice.
No warranty
Extcord is provided as is, free during the preview, with no guarantee of availability or accuracy. Check results that matter. Fetched content belongs to its owners; Extcord doesn't vouch for it.
For site owners
Requests from Extcord identify themselves with the User-Agent Extcord/0.5.1 (+https://extcord.io; agent utility gateway). They are made on behalf of agents and their users. If they cause you trouble, contact extcord@proton.me and we'll act quickly.
